September 36th (today) was the rumored date for release of the new the camera Canon Eos 40d . Was it actually announced? Where? Thank you.

I've seen the speculation myself at sites like this: http://gadgets.fosfor.se/canon-eos-40d/
That was fake however.
There is no official 40D announcement, nor is there any buzz about a 40D in any of the serious Canon forums - like this one: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/forum.asp?forum=1019
It seems the 30D will remain for some time to come.

UH, as far as I know, they will come out w/ a 40D, but it should be at least a year or so because the 30D came out a few months ago. The Rebel XTi came out like a few weeks ago though
