just got mri results - mild focally advanced degenerative changes, 56-7 thru 511-12 denoted by desiccation. schmorl's nodes in the same region.; posterior left paracentral herniation, t8-9 ; posterior central contained disc herniation t7-8. having shoulder / back and sciatic pain (lumber is clear)..any sugguestion for therapy. I have doctors appointment next week; but anxious....help...

I am biased, but I would see a chiropractor. In a way, this is our specialty. I currently see 3 patients with similar problems. I suggest going to this website to find a chiropractor, they use a low force technique, this means there is not alot of "popping and cracking". Surgeons are good but should be the last thing you do, it is such an invasive procedure, and the shots do help, but only for an hour or so. If you have any other questions please email me.

YES PHYSICAL THERAPY CAN HELP WITH THIS FROM USING ICE OR HEAT, E-STIM, AND PELVIC TRACTION. IF YOU GO TO AN OSTEOPATHIC DOCTOR / O.D. CALLED ALSO DO MANIPULATION.
