As long as the core is in there it will ooze. To get the core out: Make a poultice of willow (weeping willow) -- although willow is most medicinal in the spring when the sap is rising, it will still work: Bark is best (cambrium region) but leaves will work. You want at least a good hand full of leaves. Boil 2c water. Remove from heat, add willow, cover and steep for 10 mins. Place leaves in a couple layers of paper towel (form a packet) and place on boil until the poultice cools. Repeat next day if necessary.

Within 1 - 2 days the willow should "draw" the core out. It will hurt when you remove it, but the boil won't heal with that "bad dog" in there.

Once it starts to ozze, you MUST do warm compressions to keep it open and in the process of healing. It will take about two days to empty out.
