...and I've made it my duty to clear these things up. Here is the response to the popular christian argument that Chuck converted to christianity on his deathbed:

Charles Darwin recounted in his biography of his grandfather Erasmus Darwin how false stories were circulated claiming that Erasmus had called for Jesus on his deathbed. Charles concluded by writing "Such was the state of Christian feeling in this country [in 1802].... We may at least hope that nothing of the kind now prevails." Despite this hope, very similar stories were circulated following Darwin's own death, most prominently the "Lady Hope Story", published in 1915 which claimed he had converted on his sickbed. Such stories have been propagated by some Christian groups, to the extent of becoming urban legends, though the claims were refuted by Darwin's children and have been dismissed as false by historians. His daughter, Henrietta, who was at his deathbed, said that he did not convert to Christianity.

I honestly don't care. Back then, there was so much pressure on anyone that didn't accept mainstream religion, it makes sense that some were hesitant to fight it. Also, it is only human to have hope and wish that there is something better than this life after death. However, even if Darwin did convert it doesn't mean that Creationism is true. In fact, it only proves that sometimes the human mind refuses to accept the truth when in the face of death.

However, I never heard of the story about Darwin but I'm not sure.

Interesting but anyway what the stubborn supporters of creationism or its derived versions don't get (this includes GWB looks like), it's that the evolution theory is not against the religion, but only against a litteral reading of the bible, and even the Vatican does support the evolution theory...

I think you need to read up on your history. Darwin was a Christian fundamentalist in his youth so he would have to reconvert rather than convert. He is also buried in Westminster abbey-the home of the church of England, which says a lot about how much he was respected by his contemporaries, even the Christian ones.

The Christians are lied to constantly by people claiming to be scientist because they know christians take everything on faith and will not check out the lies. Hitler called this the big lie and used it to his own advantage.

This statement of facts won't do any more good than the century of facts creationists have already refused to accept. You can't convince someone for whom belief trumps fact.
