Why does left or right hand matter? can't you just turn the tub to have the drain on either side?

When you stand in front of the tub and look at it after installation is the drain near your left or fright hand?

Some tubs could be turned but most can not because the plumbing and electrical connections are on the side that is intended to be the front.

It matters because the back side of the tub and the frontside of the tub are different. There is really no backside to most tubs they fit against the wall
