At a regular pace of 3 miles an hour, walking every day for 8 hours it would take almost 156 days. The equivalent of walking 5 months. 8 hours is a reasonable number if you take into account that you woudl be packing food, water and shelter and would need time each morning and night to prepare or repack these items, as well as stop for lunch and short breaks.
