My dad was shot in iraq in february with an ak-47, and left last month to go back, which I think is horrible becuase they are in probably one of the worst places. His friend died, and he has seen other of his friends die right in front of him. When my dad got shot, luckly, he turned, or else he would have been shot in the kidney. Then fire broke out, so he tried crawling to a wall to keep from being shot at. Then his sargent major grabbed him by his vest and dragged him to a hum v, where a medic poured this powder in his leg to stop the bleeding, which left him with burns. Ya, its horrible.

Kuwait, not Iraq. I am a vet of the first part of the Gulf War, somewhat commonly known as Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

I saw some things that were pretty bad, but not all THAT bad. Now I have friends that are still in. One of which is currently in Iraq, and two that have done tours there during the second part of the war and now during the peacekeeping mission. They have told me some horror stories, but I will not speak for them here as that is their set of experiences and not mine.

I am very proud to have served during my tour of duty, as my friends are proud have served then and to be serving now.

ddddd you're NOT SFOD. Why you keep on pretending you're military when you're not is beyond me. Is it so pleasant to be a liar and a fraud? Does it make you feel that much more complete to be a wannabe and a fake?

I've been to Iraq twice.

And words can describe the experience, they just take a while to come out. The National Archives has a record going of military accounts of the war, a few thousand have already contributed. There will be more books and more stories to come.

My own story is for just meand my friends to remember.

My husband just got home!!! Yay, and he has a Yahoo! answers account, but he's at work right now.. anyways, I've read his journal and i've talked to him and I don't think that he'll ever be able to clearly explain the things he saw and felt. He tries to tell me, but I think it's just something you have to see to understand.
