I have 3 children, 2 boys(10 and 7) and a girl(11). Their bedrooms and bathroom are on the oposite end of the house from mine and I try to avoid their bathroom like the plague (except for hosing it down). A while back I found my self in a handle and had to use their bathroom. I felt my way through the boys room (my eyes were closed to protect my sanity) got to the bathroom, made the Sign of the Cross and opened the door. So far so good, the bathroom was actually ok (must have been an unscheduled visit from the cleaning fairy). By this time I am really in trouble and do not have time for my usual visual exam of the toilet bowl. When finished as I am standing a little tree frog jumps from the bowl to the seat and I scream. As I am pounding on my chest to get heart started again the frog disapears. As of this posting he is still on the lamb. So how do I get one of the little monkeys that use this bathroom to cop to the frog?

I may not have been clear enough, character limit and all... I suspect one of my children brought the froggy in and was letting it live in the bathroom. No malicious intent at all.
Also in retrospect I find the incident funny, a comedy of errors if you will.........

Tell them dinner tonight is frog's legs - since you found one in their bathroom. See which one of the little darling's eyes wells up!
PS...funny question, made me giggle just reading it

Ask the little darlins what his name was, and where ever did they find such a fine frog. Play it up and use it as a chance to explain habitats for frogs are not appropriate in toilets. Once you have successfully claimed the owner, have them scrub the people habitat with an old toothbrush and cleanser. These fellas are old enough to handle it. If it was a joint venture, you may get more than one bathroom cleaned.
Happy Hunting!

Haha. When you said 'toilet frog' I thought you meant something else... like what people leave in the toilet and don't flush.
A real frog, huh? Shut your bathroom door, and if your kids are at school, as soon as they get home put all 3 of your kids in the bathroom and tell them they can't come out until you see a frog. I'm sure one will confess at that point.

There is a chance that neither of the children put it in there. I used to live in Lumberton, Texas and the tree frogs were abundent. One of the little critters decided to camp out in the kids shower. I kept the front door open at night while I watched television, so he must have come in from under the screen, looking for water.

get a fish tank for the frog, one big enough so it can't jump out. That way you won't have to worry about that happening again and the kids can still have a pet.
One more thing, your kids are old enough to learn to keep their bathroom clean, so you should be a little more stearn in that area.

don't' make such a big deal about it they are just kids I'm sure you will have many more stories to tell before your children are old.
I think you should just tell them the truth. had to use the bathroom found your "guys" frog. What in the world you thinking. A frog can't live in a toilet!!! and maybe they will surprise you and tell you the Truth. if not lock them all in a room till somebody breaks. good luck I'll be praying for you in the future.

Who cares who did it.....the fact is they are going to point fingers at one another and blame anyone but themselves. My advise....I would get the children together. Tell them what happened and give them ONE chance. Ask the children to be honest and come forward attmitting their "crime".....if the child is honest and admits that they did it and it was wrong, punish the child by cleaning the bathroom or a small punishment. If they start to lie, blame one another, and argue....MOM! PUT YOUR FOOT DOWN AND TEACH THEM ALL THE SAME LESSON AT ONCE! They all get something taken away for a week, give them chores for the weekend instead of video games, phones, company, tv...whatever it takes for them to be honest with you. By punishing them all, they will learn to help pursuade each other from doing wrong in the future instead of not caring, b/c they will know they will get punished too. You may look like the "bad guy" but they must learn to respect you. You are their mother and you at least deserve the truth.. And respect must taught or by learned.
I know 2 wrongs, don't make a right, but if it takes one to know one.....Make a trip to the pet store and buy something that they can't stand and well....get creative! Sometimes you have to reach children by coming down to their level....but when you do....show them how immature it is after making your point. Don't do this to get even, but by teaching a leason...... Hope this helps and good luck

Tell the boys that you found the frog and got rid of it. Whoever responds emotionally to it is responsible. If they both do, it was a collaberative effort.

hahahahahahaa! good one!!!
unless of course, you're serious,
in that case, d@mn! Bet that was funny!
LOL :-)
People did take this really seriously, didn't they? Kids are kids, we once let a frog loose in the neighborhood swimming pool!! That was fun! I had a hamster roaming my house for 9 months before I caught her!
