It depends on how long you two have been friends and talking about dating. Me and my current boyfriend dated in middle school, then I broke up with him and was with a different guy that lasted a long time. But we remained friends and talked for two and a half years. We then started talking serious and started dating fell in love quickly but we always had that love for each other so once we both knew it was right it was ok.

It's perfectly normal, but it's not really love. That's infatuation, lust, immaturity or a serious psychological problem at work. There's nothing wrong with infatuation, and lust isn't always bad, but neither is enough to build a serious relationship on.
That said, how old are you? As teenagers this sort of thing happens to us on a regular basis -- at 14, I "fell in love" at least once a month. :) But in adults it indicates a real problem.
