Have you had long periods with the injection? I have, nearly 10 weeks now, I'm trying to be patient because I know it gets lighter the more injections you have. But it is really annoying, it's quite light but heavy enough to use tampons.

I used depo (the shot) for 7 years, and I liked it except for the weight gain, which wasn't that bad. But my doctor thought that I should stop because of the bone density risks. Now I am on the nuvaring and I LOVE it. It takes a bit to get used to but as far as non-pill birth control (which I wouldn't remember) I think it's the best with the least risks.

I had the depot leupronicide injection for 180 days (30 days X 6 injections)
It was for period pain prevention...
within 6 months after the last shot, I got pregnant, so be careful!!
Depot Leupronicide is (from what I heard), the most dangerous and controversial drug out there, even though the max length of time for it to be injected would be for 6 month time frame, and they generally don't do that run of injections ever again in a life time.
Issues I had: moodiness and hot flashes.
I ate a lot healthier, so weight gain wasn't an issue..I wound up losing a few pounds cuz I was so worried about it (worked out every day for 1-2+ hours).

I had the implant for 5 years. I was one of the first 500 done. A lot of spotting and the long term side effect of facial hair has been awful. At the time it worked but I dont know that I would do it again. The depo shot works, but get ready to deal with weight gain.

ive never tried the implant but ive been using the depo shot (injection) on @ off for the last 11 years. you get it every 12 weeks so you dont have to remember to get up and take a pill every morning.you can make the appointment for your next shot before you leave the drs office.you may gain a little weight and you may lose your period.it works for me.
