There are two basic forms of pasta - macaroni and noodles. Macaroni products are made from semolina and water. Noodles are made from Durum flour (a more finely ground form of semolina), water and, by Federal regulation, egg solids. So, without the egg solids, a pasta product can't be identified as a noodle. Because people often equate eggs with cholesterol, noodles are sometimes mistakenly singled out as a less healthy pasta choice. Yet one two-ounce serving of uncooked noodles, or the equivalent of one and one-quarter cups of cooked noodles, contains 70 milligrams of cholesterol - 23 percent of the U.S. Government recommended Daily Value. Some noodle-shaped pastas are "Yolk-Free" and contain only egg whites and are cholesterol-free.

The only thing I can think of is that pasta is Italian, or more correctly Chinese. Some explorer took pasta from China back to Italy. Noodles can be from anywhere. I don't know if being made from flour or eggs makes a difference, and I don't care, I like them all!

Generally speaking.. the word Pasta is a type of food made from flour, water, and sometimes eggs, which is mixed, kneaded and formed into various shapes, and boiled prior to consumption. While the name comes from Italy, pasta is very popular all over the world.

whereas.. Noodles .... A noodle is a thin strip of pasta, usually cut or extruded from some kind of dough. It is the basic unit in dishes like spaghetti, linguine, soba, and udon. The term often refers to moist, cooked pasta, since it has connotations of curviness and slipperiness, but also to dried noodles that must be reconstituted by boiling or soaking in water. The word noodle derives from Latin nodus (knot), via German Nudel (noodle, pasta).

In essence.. Pasta is pasta.. A noodle is ONE FORM OF pasta

Absolutely nothing recipe wise - I suppose you could say that pasta is the mix and noodles one of the things you can make from it, although lots of people simply refer to most of them as pasta anyway. :)

Spaghetti, macaroni and so on are also made out of pasta as well as noodles.

The most natural and healthy diet for humans is an omnivorous diet, and not a plant based diet, or a meat-based diet per se. The Paleo Diet can be very widely varied and omnivorous for the most part, but the most important thing is that it’s unprocessed, and avoids the worst foods that agriculture brought mankind… refined inflammatory vegetable oils, refined grains (some are worse than others), and sugar! As you can see, the benefits of adopting a Paleo way of eating can be incredible! I’ve been eating 95% Paleo for the last 5-6 years and I’ve never felt better. I have dozens of friends that have adopted a more Paleo way of eating too, and have seen all sorts of health problems disappear, including eliminating acne and other skin problems, digestion problems, improving brain clarity, and of course, losing a lot of body fat!

I thought I spotted a load of American twaddle creeping in earlier on, and as per usual, somebody who doesn't know the answer has gone to Wiki - only this time, you've been caught! Wiki has told you little porkies (LIES!) PASTA is made from duram wheat (flour) and usually contains little more than duram flour and eggs, made into many various shapes from large tubes which can be filled to delicate shapes like bows and beads (and 'strings'), and is cooked in boiling water and normally served with a sauce of some kind - usually cheese or tomato based. Originates from Italy.
NOODLES are usually made from rice flour and eggs and water, are always simply thin 'strings', and are usually fried rather than boiled and served as part of a stir-fry dish. Origin: China.
Now let Wikipaedia tell you THAT !!!!

All noodles are pasta, but not all pastas are noodles. All pastas share a common ingredient of flour. This can be most any type of flour( wheat, soy, rice, etc.) and a binder, such as egg. From there the ingredient vary widely giving us a plethora of pasta recipes. Noodles are shaped rom this pasta (dough) mixture in a wide variety as well, but not all pastas are formed into noodle, such as the German Spatzel or the Mediterranean, Cous Cous.

OK ANYONE WHO SAYS NOTHING i'LL START BY SAYING YOU'RE WRONG!!!!!! SO WRONG, YOU COULD BE THE PRESIDENT IF WRONGS-VILLE ON NATIONAL WRONGS DAY.
The recipe difference I am not a 100% sure of, however, if you use the term noodles correctly, they are NOTHING to do with pasta. That is an American mistake! Noodles are oriental, and can come in several varieties, including rice and egg, these are obviously the main ingredients.
Pasta is Italian and has MANY shapes, including spaghetti (sometimes WRONGLY referred to as noodles) fusilli, rigatoni and penne. The ingredients are strong white flour egg & egg.
