Assuming you mean fried potatoes... Fried potatoes are fried in a skillet with just enough oil or fat to brown and cook them. French fried are fried in a deep pot of oil and cooked until they are a golden brown. Fried potatoes are usually soft where French fries are harder on the out side and soft on the inside.

Fried potatoes are made from pre-cooked potatoes sliced 1/4 inch thick or thinner, and fried, usually with onions, in a stove top pan.
French fried are un-cooked potatoes that are sliced in sections or in strips. Then they are either deep fried or, for a lighter alternative, tossed with some oil and baked at 450 degrees in the oven for 1/2 hour. Fast food fries have something extra added to the exterior of the potato strips before deep-frying.

Fried fries is when you take French Fries from a bag or if you make your own fries, put them in a skillet and fry them as you would a steak.. The French Fries as we normally know them is when we take the french fry sticks(potato sticks) and dip them into very hot grease for a few minutes to fry.. Calorie wise, there are more calories in a fat-dipped French fry over the pan fried Fry.

French Fries are boiled in a hot salt water bath for 30 seconds before they fry in oil. This keeps the oil from absorbing into the potato.

We presume you are talking about potatoes. It is the shape of the cut that determines what you are asking.
