Is it too harsh to say that a minimum of life in prison or the death penalty should be given to someone who is convicted of murdering a child-that is,if they weren't insane at the time?

Are you talking about the children found dead in the washing machine and dryer?

No minimum life in prison for each of the murders isn't too harsh at all in my opinion. In fact I think a slow hanging death in public wouldn't be too harsh.'

As a mother of four children myself I can't conceive anyone wanting to hurt an innocent child for the benefit of a man. Apparently she did this horrible crime to prove to a boyfriend that she was pregnant with his child and then she needed some kind of pity and called the local police to say that she had given birth to a still born in the park, and for what? She came out with the truth at the infants funeral. How sad is it that she had to take the life of a mother and unborn child for a couple days of compassion from someone that was obviously never hers to begin with. If you have to come up with something this brutal to gain the attention of a man, when there are so many other men to chose from that will love you without trying to make them love you. How sad is it for the life of the other three children as well. To get drowned in a bath tub and put in a washer and dryer! They should do the same thing to that women. May God have mercy on her soul. Let me also add that the death penalty would be to easy for this murderer. She should be sent to prison and be made to put a picture of all of the people that she murdered in her cell to look at everyday to remember what she did and how she took the innocent lives of people for personnal gain. She should be made to rot in prison with nothing, only the bare minimal to survive. Poor people do it everyday, and they survive, that is nothing compared to the 5 innocent people she killed. Then I hope that she gets what she deserves in prison, women hate baby killers. Death on the other hand, only if they stoned her to death. She deserves NO MERCY! You know as far as being sane or insane at the time, well she was sane enough to hide the bodies of the other children and plan a funeral and do homework with her daughter and go to the school for a parent conference with the teacher. The insanity plea is a cop out. Do the crime do the time!

Five consecutive life sentences is what she should be getting - one for each of the three children, one for the mother, and one for the seven-month baby the mother was carrying. I believe that all lives should have equal value under the law.

She is not insane by the legal definition of the word. However revolting her actions, she had the presence of mind to hide the bodies of the three children, lie to hospital officials about the "fetus" (which probably could have survived had she not cut it out of the mother's body with a pair of scissors), and later confess to her boyfriend that the baby she had "miscarried" was another woman's and that she had killed the mother to get it. An insane person wouldn't have been capable of appreciating the nature and quality of her actions, and would have felt no particular need to hide them.

That woman shouldn't even get a trial. They should tie her to the bumper of a truck and drag her sorry @$$ through the streets of East St. Louis. She drowned those three little kids and stuffed their bodies in her washer and dryer, AFTER she killed their mother and cut out her unborn fetus. She's already admitted to doing it, so just do away with the trial and the years of appeals and send her right to the chair or the injection chamber.

I get confused by how the law prosecutes people who harm children....if they are your own children you are obviously insane and should be found not guilty and sent to a hospital for a few years, BUT if they are someone else's children then you should be punished to the full extent of the law

It doesnt make sense to me, parents should be punished harsher for hurting their own children in my opinion.

rape? that is too vast a lie even for a hamas supporter. in actuality, israel become accursed for no longer raping(!!!) palestinian ladies i'm going to cite to you one in all my previous solutions: there become a sociological learn paper i might seen some years in the past, and the main important thesis of it become (i do no longer remember the right phraseology) that the the IDF infantrymen no longer rape the palestinian woman, with the aid of fact they racists, and that they no longer evaluate those woman as human beings on their point. as no IDF soldier ever raped a palestine woman, yet your objective is outwardly to slander the Israeli military perhaps you should use this attitude to your propaganda purposes? (why i've got been given a feeling that the psychological point of the discussions sank under sea point in this subject count?) edit: i admit did no longer examine the whole element you wrote with the aid of fact your introduction become untrue so i concluded something coming from you would be as real. that's the reason me referring in easy terms to the 1st a million-2 sentences.

sorry no plead of any type of insanity should save this woman....she not only killed three kids (allegedly) she killed a pregnant woman to get to the fetus..........(does any one know if the fetus lived?) I cannot think of a punishment of this earth that is strong enough for this woman I will pray for her soul, and God will judge her.

Too sad to even ponder. I could not finish reading those news.

I believe the woman is definitely ill, because to not be mentally ill would make her a horrifying monster.
