If you're doing the work yourself, it will cost A LOT less than if you hire it out. I'm in the process of accumulating the pieces to redo two bathrooms in my home right now. I save money from my budget at $100 per week and put this into a "house fund", and use the money from that to buy replacement pieces. So far I have paid over $700 for one cabinet and sink (including all necessary plumbing fixtures), and two 6 litre jet action flush toilets. I went with this much more expensive toilet, because there are 7 people living in this house, and I didn't want each one of them to have to flush twice to get rid of waste (which is a real problem with "normal" 6 litre toilets).

I fully expect to have to pay at least another $1000 dollars for each of the bathrooms, to buy the proper cement board, and the waterproof membrane to go under the tile, tile for the walls, and laminate flooring for the floors (I like the look of wood, but because of the high moisture in bathrooms, have decided to go with laminate instead). Then the tub that I want for my main bathroom is a Zen Soaker, which costs $500. The 4 ft shower stall I want to install in the other costs $700. My one bathroom is 5 X 8 ft and the other 5 X 7 ft. AND then on top of that will be the cost of replacing the windows in each with a proper bathroom window, cost about $200 each.

The total cost for my renovations should come in at less than $4500 for both bathrooms. If I were to pay to get the same work done, it would be easily double that and more.

As I type this, my husband is doing ours, we bought

paint for walls, doors and ceiling about £45
new lino flooring £20
Cabinet £25
Shower £65
Tiles £50 (we got basics ones from b&q)
grout, tile accessories, pva glue, sandpaper, paintbrushes, paint rollers etc, new toothbrush holder/soap dispenser, lampshade, shower curtain, energy saving lightbulb

all in all, cost about £250.

Our bathroom is small, about 6 foot by 6 foot, so depending on what you want doing, shouldnt be mroe than £250 - £300

Obviously you can do as much or little as you want, weve done everything except buy a new bathroom suite as hats only 2 years old anyway.

Shop around for bargains, things like paint brushes can be expensive, go around local hardware shops for cheaper ones.

Shower curtains can be anywhere between £7 and £20, so shop around.

I have changed my bathroom where I changed the 3 piece set and tiled the flooring and all.. It cost us around £1000. But it is worth doing it and we got more space and a good bathroom.

Not sure what stuff are on the walls. Find out if you could paint over it. If you can, I am sure you will have to prime it first. You could get the primer that has the color you choose in it. Since it is small, I would stick to a light light. Dark colors seem to make a room smaller. I would accessorize with a darker color of your choice. Don't know what color the tub, sink, etc. is. If it is beige, you could go with blue accessories; towels, shower curtain, etc. You could also go with green. If white, then you could go with anything. The trim, I would go with what is in the rest of the home; whether wood or if it is painted a particular color. It sounds like they painted the trim pinkish and I don't believe that is the same color as the rest of the home. Good Luck in what color/colors you choose.

to replace the bathroom suite and tile in basic white about £300. We got a suite from b&q for £189 and the tiles were on sale so we got them for about £60 and we allowed for extras like grout and sealant.

If you just want to paint another color and buy towels and floor rugs to match, should not be very expensive at all. A coat of paint does wonders to change a room and is very inexperience. Then just buy all your accessories to match. I bet you could do it for less than $ 75.00,depending on the accessories you buy.

it all depends on what you want to do,if it is just a paint job then it should only cost a few pounds, but if it is a complete make over ( new suite, tiles, flooring assesorys )then it could cost around a thousand pounds.
good luck.

Depends on if you're going to gut it or just do surface work. It also depends on how expensive your tastes are.

I gutted and remodeled a small bathroom for 5K.

about 2000 with new tile, sink, toilet and fixtures. New paint , shower curtain, towels, and accesories can run you another 100 dollars depending on how cheap or expensive you go.

It depends on if you are going to replace EVERYTHING (shower/tub, toilet, sink/vanity, new paint/wallpaper, flooring, etc.) Anything involving tile is very expensive.
