Burning your jpg files onto a cd-rom and having them printed by walmart. The cost of printing them at home is much higher using a dedicated photo printer .

I agree Wal-mart has good prices - I also recommend looking online at other sites and what they offer.
Target, Yahoo Photo, Flickr, Shutterfly, Ofoto are a few examples of what I was looking at.
A lot of the above sites have packages you can buy for a specific number of pictures per year or for a package all at once.
Beware of Wal-mart's online service - they charge you for online storage while you send them the photos you want printed.
Home printing is convienent for a few pictures - I have a Canon PIXMA iP90 that works well. The photos need editing - the color process they use makes some photos look a little green (yellow object on a green grassy background). But the ink and the paper are expensive.
Some local shops (Mom and Pop photo, Eckerd, Rite Aid) are a little expensive.

It's tough to beat Walmart. High quality prints for not much money. They will use high quality glossy paper unless you want them in an hour (for these they will use flat matte paper instead). The best way to do this, if you have a high speed internet connection, is to go to walmart.com to their photo section and upload your photos. Figure out what you want after that and, when you checkout, have them sent to your local Walmart. They will arrive there in a few days and you can just pick them up from their photo area. For like $2 extra, you can also have them mailed directly to your home.

The Canon printers usually come out the cheapest for ink usage, particularly those with separate colour ink tanks.
You can get quite a few pictures on to one A4 size of paper.
If they are not for long term keeping then use ordinary paper!
Finish looks Matt, but OK.

I have printed a lot of pictures at home but I found it can get very expensive so I now upload mine to Walgreens. They are cheaper than Wal-Mart and they pictures are great.
