Well based on what you've said, I would assume that this guy doesn't really know what he wants because he seems to be rambling alot. What you rightly did was make your feelings clear and since he still seems to have lingering doubts, that clearly proves that he's not ready for a commitment and doesn't really love you. Cause he's also making up frivilous excuses to justify why he's reluctant like "he could tell there would be fights if we get married". This suggest to me that if you two should get married, and problems do occur later on in the marriage, he's not gonna lift a finger to help but rather make things worse. So all and all, you need to leave him where he is and move on cause he's certainly not ready yet and there's no telling if he ever will be.

It means they don't know what the hell they want. They haven't come to a conclusion yet. Sit back, don't push, and don't tell them you love them anymore. If they ask why you don't say it anymore just tell them you already said it, so they know how you feel, and you don't want to make them uncomfortable by saying it over and over.

I admit, it is a puzzling combination of statements. Unless you two have regularly had arguments I can't imagine what that fighting statement would mean.
I can't say if you have a real chance, but it's too early to give up.

this means this person has come to a crossroads in your relationship and from the looks of it he's decided that he doesn't see a future with you. You should probably spare yourself any extra hurt and just move on.

Could be they don't want to get hurt, but it could be both of those things you said as well. Just work with it and give it time.
Best wishes

I certainly don't think that person feels the same way you do and didn't want to "hurt your feelings".

thats a confused guy......he is not sure about your whole relationship....do not get married to a guy who does not give you assurance of a long-term relationship like marriage but instead keeps on giving you excuses......so my advice would be to DUMP the guy and get a real guy who is genuine

Both. Probably sincere reflection and a 'let's wait' decision was the result.

They've thought about it and they're warning you not to get involved with them. Trust them. They know of what they speak.
