Which is the best?.... Just for plain pain, paracetamol is advised as it achieves good effect with very less undesirable side effects. For pain associated with inflammations ibuprofen achieves better effect than naproxen. Without looking at their side effects, among the three ; IBUPROFEN gives best analgesic effect based on the fact that its potency is considerably high compared to paracetamol and naproxen.
If analgesic is required simply to relieve pain as in headache , paracetamol is recommended to be used for analgesic purposes. Paracetamol basically contain ingredients for pain relieving purposes and for lowering temperatures (antipyretics) with less side effects.
Both ibuprofen and naproxen are classified as non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs. Both also contain elements with analgesic actions. If the origin of pain is associated with inflammation then it is with advantage to give either of the two. If the pain is a bit high then ibuprofen can give better result , if the pain is just mild to moderate then naproxen can be given.

paracetamol also known in the U.S. as acethaminophen (tylenol) is not irritating to the stomach hence widely accepted by hospitals. The downside is it does not have anti-inflammatory properties that ibuprofen and naproxen has which are commonly used to treat arthritis (taken with meals to minimize stomach upset)
