you should try at all costs to keep them dry. when showering or bathing-just use a damp washcloth on your face and wash around the stitches. getting them wet can cause them to slowly come apart which could re-open the cut and put you at risk for infection.
stitches take anywhere from 7-14 days to close the cut before they can be removed

Typically stitches should not get wet and most will be removed in 7-10 days. Your physican should have discussed these things with you (or the person who took you to the er) before releasing you.

Whoever put them in should have explained the do's and don'ts of your particular sutures. Get in touch with them and find out. If you wreck the suture job by losing the sutures too soon you will scar easier.

I would ask the doctor who put the stitches in, I think that you can not get them wet but I would ask first

Try to keep them dry, but you don't need to wear a bag over your head to keep them dry. If they do get wet try to dry them off with a towel, dab don't wipe. Since they are on your face they might disintegrate on their own so they won't need to be removed.

Five to seven days. I showered when I had them in my face. I just didn't scrub them, I let the water run over them.
