I couldn't care less what people think of me. If you don't like me then there are 4 billion other people on the planet to talk to, go and spend time with one of them.

We are all self conscious, the same reason we spend $60.00 plus on cloths we could pay $5.00 at walmart for. We want to impress people

Because people are insecure and need to have the rest of the world's approval. Without the world's approval, then that person would not be able to poop, pee, fart, eat, sleep, etc and then how will that person function?

It's a natural thing if you're down and somebody says something nice to you it will give you a positive boost. I think that's why.
