Water on Mars is trapped in the form of Carbon Dioxide ice, mainly at the poles.
And yes, alot of it has evaporated and dispersed into space. Mars has a very thin atmosphere and the heat of the Sun will evaporate the ater. With the thin atmosphere, some of the vapor escapes, never to return.

yeah, they say that the ravines on mars are the remains of a huge river,
the main theroy i have heard is that due to the fact of the thin-ness of mars's atmosphere, the water evaporated, remember that the further up a mountin and the lower the air particle density causes water and other substances to boil off at a much lower temprature. also proximity to a heat sorce can evaporate water, we are lucky as we have a much thicker atmosphere than mars, the ozone prevents as much heat from crossing into our atmosphere, and also helps hold water in our atmosphere with the help of gravity

Actually, the prevelant theory is there simply isn't enough gravity to hold the water on the planet's surface. It evaporated, and floated out into space. And yes, the water on this earth has been here many many years. Our planet has enough gravity and atmosphere to hold the water... Pretty weird once you think about it, huh?

I have a theory based on "Worlds in collision" and The "Urantia Book ". The planet Venus entered our solar system and came close enough to Mars to blow off its atmosphere. Venus has a retrograde revolution.the only planet in the SS that has. a sure sign of an alien space body.

I always thought that Earth is the only planet with life because we are in the right spot. Every year we move closer to the sun which means eventually we Earth will be too hot and mars will be where Earth is now. They are already finding plants and other forms of "life" on mars so I believe soon it will take the place of Earth.............. make sense????????????????????
