I am inclined to believe that the same Trolls who used to make life a misery for everyone on the discussion boards have now started the same game on here.
Shame they have to drive all their friends away then start on us!
I think a 3 strikes rule should apply on here. If three or more people thumbs down you then your answer (or question) is removed.

You are absolutely right. However there is nothing we can do to stop rudeness. We can report abuse but rudeness is subjective. Just try to ignore the rude people and concentrate on the rest of us.
If Yahoo would award some sort of point system related to the "thumbs up, thumbs down" system, we could all give the rude people a "thumbs down" and they would get 10 points taken away. Good idea?

I have to admit to joining the forum very recently, and only posting three questions solely because of the abuse you get. I closed the last one (silly question but something that had been bugging me) as quickly as i could cos of the abuse.
I dont understand why ppl like to play 'bully behind the screen' - i find this normally means a low self esteem. :0)
Yahoo pull questions because they think there are abusive/or break violations..but let the abusive replies continue..ho hum.

Hey happy humble, dont take anything personal. People who appear rude are just looking for attention and a reaction. If you ignore them and concentrate on the nice people then they will generally get the message. Plus sometimes some rude comments are quite funny and borne out of frustration. It's just like when you are face-to-face with an angry person and you smile at them. See how long it takes for them to back down...

This all depends on how they were brought up (no offense meant to anyone). "Don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all." Seems like allot of people that hide behind these screens do not know that old saying. I've seen maybe 3 here so far being rude to this post and it is an etiquette post. Jeesh.

I think some people take things far to seriously and need to lighten up a bit and some people do ask extremley mind numbing questions- However I don't aggree with personally insulting somebody- there is a fine line- I hope I never cross it!- some people are very easily offended at things that others would just laugh off!

I agree with you but some people like to try and think they are being funny. Always remember though that you can report abuse here on Yahoo answers if you feel the need to.

I think it just boils down to the fact that some (not me, just some) people like to be rude and insult others whilst on the infernet. It's a power trip of some kind, and you should ignore it, since the majority of us are to be helpful.

Don't worry the people who are rude stand out a mile and no one takes any notice of them. The reason they are rude is because they are ignorant. I too find that 99% of answers are brilliant, helpful, supportive and informative and 1% are arseholes. A bit like life really. Just ignore them.

I fully agree with you and support you. Some people use this platform for making rude remarks. I think they do not get a chance anywhere else to express themselves.
