Hi, Saw all your questions attacking Islam by the way, but here is a little bit of wisdom! I am a convert by the way , A New Yorker none the less. At the begining I asked myself the same question. In Islam you are able to make your own marriage contract, this means that you choose what to write in it.
1-) You can write in your contract as a condition that your husband can not marry anyone else.
2-) But to go to your question. In the world there are many more women than men. By DNA the chances of getting a girl are higher than a boy, Men go to ar, to jail, they die more often than women and at a younger age, hence this leaves many women unmarried.
3-) The Quran clearly talks about this. And puts restrictions. We are told Marry 1,2,3,4 but if You can't treat them equally marry 1. This is the ideal situation As it was with the marriage of Our prophet and HC. Kadija. Men's (human) heart is weak by nature so it is very hard to treat to people equally specially if you are married to them, thus TRUE Muslims would marry one.
4-) You have to consider the following situations: Wife #1 gets sick and can't feed or take care of herself... Would you divorce her and throw her out?
5-) Wife #1 has mental disability, would you divorce her, if you loved her? If you had a second wife that would help with the care of your wife and children would you not do it? If you loved your wife.... and had no other means during that time.
6-) Men's needs are different than hours instead of cheating with someone else you are being Honest.... I GUESS KNOWN Diseases would not spread like crazy....
anyway I can go on and on and if you really wanted t find out the answer for yourself YOU WOULD READ!

It depends on the area.
In many countries that would get them thrown out the door with no way to feed themselves except prostitution.
So they take it.
In other areas polygamy is not nearly as common, yet.
If God wanted men to have 4 wives, there would be 4 girls born for every 1 boy.
I am a Christian man and have been married to one woman for over 20 years and have NEVER ran around "behind her back" men do not have to sin, and sin is sin even if you justify it.

Because muslim women CANT revolt. THey are not people. They are possessions. They have no say. They would be drowned in the family pool with 100 guests watching because they "shamed the family honor". They are treated like animals from childhood and live in fear. They are circumsized in girlhood and sold into marriage. Are you KIDDING...REVOLT!!! Please they are not even allowed to show thier FACE and you think they are allowed to have a VOICE???

Because it doesn't happen as much as it used to anymore. Back, about 1400 years ago, it used to happen because of war. When there was war, and if a married man would die, instead of the woman living on the streets another man would become responsible for her, so he would marry her. Also it doesn't happen as much as it used to any more because people have realised how BIG a responsibility it is.

Really it is all about conditioning. They have lived their entire lives that way and they do not know any better. So the reason they don't revolt is because they don't think they can and/or are allowed to.

which is better for a man ? to have a mistress or to have a legal wife ? so why don't non Muslim women revolt against their cheating husbands ?

Because Allah knows men's nature.
A woman can live with one man all her life, but usually men tend to have affairs outside marriage. Therefre, it is better if they marry this other woman legally instead of having a sinful affair.
They can also marry a widow with kids just to give her a name and protection.

men can marry 4 only and with firm conditions ,its not a free thing to do

because there is nothing for them to revolt against.
Muslim women are treated like queens.
and they don't have to take off their clothes in public to be respected and admired.
