What other products do they use to help them to sing better?

It's just a rhetorical question. I'm simply going off the stereotypes you see in movies in which an opera singer sprays something into his/her throat from an atomizer before going on stage. I was just wondering if it were something opera singers generally use before going on stage.
Then it got me wondering about other stuff singers might do/use to help them sing.
Doesn't lemon juice corrode the voice?

Well I am an Opera singer I have sung in many Operas in My country and what we use to keep hydrated our vocal chords is just fresh water.

Nothing else, unless you are sick and you have to sing.

Lemon is good to drink when you are sick, or you have sore throat, No good before to sing, because the acid will make the vocal chords dry.

Yes some singers drink wine, cognac, or honey before to sing, others eat pasta, chocolate, others just eat normal.

I think every singer is different and I cannot tell you a specific "step by step routine" they do before to sing. What can I tell you is: All of them vocalize and stay concentrate in what they have to sing.

In my personal case I use just water and before to sing I eat just fruits, I don't use to eat heavy or to full to much my stomach...

Smiles,,,I've worked Opera for a few years, and there is no definite substance applied.

Every performer finds there own method. Caviar to oysters, Honey to icecream.

Sing Better is subjective and relative.

If one hasn't the ability on ones own, no amount of "spraying" will give anyone talent.

Consider this.... If you happen to be a "lead" you'll very likely have a 3 or 4 minute aria, etc. In rehearsals you certainly will want to "mark" a performance on occassion.

You will be able to breathe, and have breaks in which the other lead will be doing the actual "work"

You'll also "practice" constantly when not on stage, and OPERA will be your life, and often your means of talking to yourself.

You don't say whether or not you're just curious, or are Operatically inclined, so perhaps this is just a rhetorical Q?
