wax can be made from different things. Petroleum is the most common but not very healthy to breathe in esp. for children or anyone with allergies. There is also soy wax and bees wax.

Wax is made of wax. It is produced by bees and is the best type. It is used specifically in polishing furniture made of real wood and gives a long lasting and hard wearing shine.
There are other waxes made artificially and you probably mean soy wax.

Soy wax is produced from soybean oil. Soybean oil is separated from the solid components by solvent extraction or by mechanical pressing. About 60 kg of soybeans are required to produce 10 kg of soybean oil. The soy solids, which remain after oil extraction, can be used as cattle feed. i think it comes from bees or something.
