When putting your head under the water in a hot tub? I just wondered if the jets, or the warmth of the water could hurt something?

Yes, i'm an audiologist, and allowing jets of water to hit the innner ear is not going to be a very clever thing to do...

do not poke, prod, insert, anything into your ears that shouldn't be in there... that includes cleaning your ears with cotton buds... use a spray, something like audi clean... certainly not jets of water... if you have done this, seek medical advice straight away if you are having any pain... Please!

You can get "Swimmer's Ear" but usually only if you have sensitive ears or don't clean the water out properly when you get out. You can also hurt your ears if you actually put your ears up to the jets and let it blast in.

However, if you're just putting your head under water, there should be no problems. I have had my hot tub for years and have never had any issues from dunking my head.
