Yesterday I had a pain at the back of my mouth, and I kept playing with it with my tongue, Last night I could taste something nasty, now it does't hurt as much but still very tender. I haven't had to have my wisdom teeth out yet, should I go to the dentist, I've made an appointment for Friday, should I keep it?

It sounds like you have an abscess which may be draining into the mouth. You need to check with the dentist and let them take an xray to check the area. You may have an infection which may require antibiotics. Don't put it off--it may get worse. Good luck! Maybe they can even get you in sooner.

Deffinately. A funny taste in the mouth usually indicates some kind of infection. Keep your appointment, even if the pain does subside, there may be something underlying, may require a small xray to see beneath the gum. May be your wisdom teeth could be a root infection. Make sure you clean very well around the affected area

You really should go, ignoring it is just temporary it might go away for a month or so but believe me it'll be back with a vengance. Your teeth is something you should never neglect. I had a huge phobia of the dentists and didnt go for 10 years. In the end after a whole weekend of excruciating pain and no sleep I figured tooth ache was far more painful and braved it. Don't ignore it.

Yes, It could be a wisdom tooth coming in. Or it could be something else. Keep the appointment, it would be better to go to one of the experts on this.

Yes, you should keep the appointment. It could be your wisdon teeth, but if you had a nasty taste, it could be an abcess (not sure how to spell it!) or something else. Good luck x

Yes.....you could have serious problems that may lead to infection. Pity you don't have the apt TODAY? Any chance of getting them to take you earlier, like if someone else cancels?
