It's an interesting testimonial but it is just one mans journey. I could write a very similar piece about my loss of faith in the Christian dogma based on it's history, brainwashing and extremism.
This man was raised in an extremist society and broke away from it.
I sometimes wonder if all of the intelligent Muslims have moved to the West leaving only the most extreme to rule in the Mid east.

First of All, this site which u refered is basically an anti-Islamic site.
Secondly, the guy u r calling 'Muslim' is Not a Muslim but an ex-Muslim, who certainly wants to defame Islam, 'coz he is NOT one of Muslims now.
Thirdly, that guy belonged to a Shia Sect (different faction of Islam, like protestants in christianity). Now, i won't go into the detail of what is Shia Sect abt, its just that they Correctly represent Islam, and have certain ritual that are certainly NOT the way of Islam, they are different than any True Muslim, 'coz they have their own ritual, traditions and customs of doing things, which as said before NOT The Islamic way.
So, my friend, what u r trying to suggest is Certainly NOT True, and Muslims are Never brain-washed, infact we are like any other Normal person that u may find on the streets. and, u certainly have to provide sufficient evidence to proof what u r suggesting, 'coz the evidence u gave is NOt sufficient enough, and Not reliably enough to support ur claim, and just 'coz one ex-Muslim said sthg against Islam, Does NOT make The Whole of Islam any wrong (GOD Forbid), and it Does NOT make it True for The Entire Muslim Community.
Peace to All.
Edit : Just 'coz u say so or i say or anyone say so, it Does NOT make it The Truth. to find The Truth u have to research abt it, but just believing anyone's heresy to come to The Truth is just Foolishness and Ignorance. and u tell me, isn't that ex-Muslim an anti-Islam now? isn't that posted on an anti-Islamic website? dude, u don't have to fall for such rubbish sites which only try to defame Islam. u have to get out of there, and Research independently. u just can't take an anti-Islamic view, and rest ur case claiming what u claim, u have to look into The True Teachings of Islam before claiming The Truth. u have to view both sides of the picture, to have a complete view of the picture, u can't just look at one side and say there is Nothing on the other side and that only the side which u saw is The Truth. u have to do a lot better than believing one ex-Muslim anti-Islamic testimonial to have a picture of The Truth.

The main point of this arguement was the poor treatment of women. This seems to be a more tribal phenomena local to Afghanistan/Pakistan. In North Africa, Turkey or Bosnia for instance women hold important roles in the community. Here is a more balanced article on women in Islam.

i took a quick glance at ur site... then i saw he was under a dictorial regime. my first red flag? the regime did the brain washing not the religion. yes the majority of the regime was probly islamic but does that really matter?
religion is a set of beliefs that explain the unexplainable, and a set of ethics, the majority of those actually preventing hatred. its teachings are not brainwash, because in the end its there choice to belive or their parents choice to force it upon them. (or the goverment in controll for this matter)

Shiites are generally regarded as a sect that broke off from main stream Islam and do not practice true Islam. They believe in self inflicted pain and weird stuff like that. True Islam is peaceful, understanding and tolerant of all people.

Let them have their religion as we have freedom of and from religion. Man has created Gods for as long as he has been on this earth then goes out to kill others that worship a different way. Religion has been the cause of most of the wars in history. The crusades and Inquisition were not wars, but are good examples of religious zealots.

I have left Christianity because i believe for me the faith and the specific church i went to was flawed. Does this mean that all of Christianity is evil..... i would never dare to think so. It means that we are all guided to where we belong..... Islam is loving and beautiful.....
also i found it funny that when i tried to access the provided link my internet access at work said that "websites containing hate speech are restricted"

Islam does not brainwash...Islam just spread their teachings and it's against our Islamic code to force a person to convert against their will..it's normally Christians who cajol non-believers to convert.

One of the downfalls of an oppressive religion is that when an upheaval begins...it begins from within.
And once it starts...those that were forced against their will take a stand.
Usually, when theres nothing left to lose...people fight more viciously.
