im looking for a new (02-05) vehicle...not real sure what to get...i dont want to spend more than $15,000...im kinda leaning towards the new compass, xterra or sport trac...i have an suv now and id like to have another, but im also hurting really bad on gas mileage but ive grown more fond of cars now...something sporty...can anyone give me a few ideas? (i like subarus, but they dont depreciate much and are still expensive)

You want something that goes good in the snow...get some kind of diesel truck.

Do you tow?
Non-tow - You can't beat a Jeep and parts are everywhere. Wrangler or Cherokee or maybe a Subaru. They have all wheel drive that works great in the snow.
Tow - Chevy Tahoe/Suburban. Best horsepower and gas mileage for the size.

check classified ads in a bigger city close to you look for private sellers not dealerships you will be more likely to talk them down and get yourself a good deal on pretty much anything you are looking for. be sure to bring someone that is knowledgeable about cars and know what to look for in lemons when you look at cars from private sellers because dealerships cars usually have to pass an inspection to be put on lot

Most front wheel drive cars go well in the snow, if you know how to drive.

Don't get anything with performance tires or you will need to get snow tires.
