I heard if you set up containers of water around your yard it will at least keep dogs from pooping on the grass. Not sure why it works but I guess it does. Take two-liter pop bottles or milk jugs and cut the top off, fill them with water and set them out.

Call Animal Control because there are leash laws out there that are designed to prevent situations like this. Ask your neighbor politely to keep the dog out of your yard at all times. If he fails to cooperate, you are justified in calling Animal Control. He will be fined and will get the idea that he needs to put Fido on a leash and control his whereabouts.

This is a hard one because at the present, I am that horrible neighbor. We just moved into our new house and I have three small children and four house dogs. My kids are constantly running in and out and letting the dogs out of the house. It is horribly embarresing for me and I have gotten diffrent reactions from diffrent neighbors. I will say though that coming from the other end of your problem, talking to your neighbor in a NICE way is very effective. I had a neighbor show up at my door with my dog that I had no idea was running loose. She said, does this little guy belong to you? I found him in my yard and I was afraid he may get in the road. I felt horrible that she made the trip and was trying to help me out as opposed to hating the woman that showed up at my door yelling "Could you put your dog in your house?" Kindness goes a long way. Maybe your neighbor is like me, maybe they will decide to put up a fence because they dont wanna be a pain in the *** to someone who is kind. Good luck.

You need to speak to your neighbours, and mention that their dog keeps going into your yard. In the UK its the dog owners responsibility to keep the dog from entering anybody else property, therefore they should make sure they have adequate fencing.

It is your neighbor's job to keep his/her dog out of your yard. Everytime the dog gets in your yard, call them up and just say, "Hi, I noticed your dog is in my yard, could you get him? Thanks so much" Do this about five days. If the don't get the hint, call animal control.

Ropel granules. You can get them at Wal-Mart, Home Depot, etc., for about $8/gal
I once dusted the grass with cayenne. Either the little thing pooped elsewhere, or his little butt hole turned red
Eventually, I just confronted the neighbors and asked that the dog please not pooped on my front yard. It worked...

I know some stores like home depot sell some stuff that you put in your garden and its smell keeps the cats away. I don't know if they have that for dogs though.
