As long as you can put up with religious BS, I'd take the pastor's help if you need it. Of course, he's going to want you to attend his church, which could suck. And it doesn't sound like your parents would like that either.

What kind of bill is it? There are programs to help with utility bills and such. Sometimes you can work with the company to find a solution to pay off the bills. Maybe this is better than subjecting yourself to religious indoctrination.

Good luck.

The purpose for the church is to help those who need help! If your Pastor is a Good Pastor, take it! A Good church won't ask for it back either! The church is not a bank where they give out loans and put interest on what you borrowed! The chuch is supposed to give! I'm not saying take everything they got and keep it! don't be rude or selfish with it!

there are social agencies who are there which will help those in financial need. take advantage of the pastor's offer as this is an extremely nice offer. suggest that when the situation eases you and yours repay the church even if it is a little at a time. this way it is a loan not an outright gift. all retain dignity and then the money can be used to help someone else later.

If you trust your pastor, tell him the situation. Will money help for good or will it just help this month, until the next bill is due? Maybe they need some money guidance, too.
