I don' know how long it will take, but I do know that it is a form of Herpes Simplex which is a highly contagious disease. He should have never kissed you with it active. People can even get it right after it heals because of the shedding involved when it heals. I strongly suggest that you read about herpes and cold sores. The more you know about it the easier it will be to protect yourself. Knowledge is a key factor in prevention of this disease. Once you know executes steps of prevention.

Most likely nothing to worry about, and no you most likely will not get it. A cold sore it not herpes as someone said, that is different although they can appear the same. If you are a normal healthy person, you should have no problem what so ever.

You may or may not get it. If you do it will probably show up in a few days but some people can get it and have no symptoms.
A cold sore IS herpes. There are 2 types of herpes type I and II. Type I usually but not always is a cold sore and Type II is usually but not always genital herpes. You can get "cold sore" herpes on your genitals through oral sex and you can get "genital" herpes on your lips through oral sex. If someone doesn't know cold sores are not herpes, get an education. Look it up on google.

You are now certainly carrying the virus (because they are a viral infection) it will appear sooner or later, if not this year, could be next. Sure it's a cold sore and not herpes?

A cold sore is part of the herpes simplex virus actually. its the "recurrent herpes labialis." and he could have already passed it on to you even when he doesn't visually show symptoms, its called shedding. You can get creams that stop the visual symptoms even before they start. eg, zivorac ..?

Put some rubbing alcohol on it with a cotton ball, it will sting for a bit, but it will help dry it up.

yes you could get the virus, but you may never get visible signs. Wouldn't advise oral sex while he has cold sores as you are liable to contract genital herpes
