Yes, indeed. Sometimes I even embarrass myself. ;-)

I am a man of many moods. I got angry at some in the beginning.
Couldn't believe the hatefulness coming from them. But I have
trained to be Spiritual Warrior.
Let me give an example of a Warriors actions. A Teacher who worked at a gas station, (liked the peace of night shift), and
warriors are in servcie to others. Was finishing his shift one
morning. A couple pulled in to get gas. They were older,
and dressed like the 50s. Elvis style, the woman in bobby socks
and pony tail.
The student observed his Teacher as he was very respectful
to the elderly, innocent pair. Later, a group of Hippies in purple
robes pulled in with their love beads, and peace signs. The
Teacher/Warrior saw them for the hypocrites they were, and
began talking about one of the women, and how he'd like to have some. The LOVE children turned red, and angrily left the
station.
I used to think I was mature and understanding. But realized
I was an @SShole. Warriors are kind. But they expose pretention and things of that nature. The Book also says
to love God is to hate evil. And evil is a proud look. And that we
need to correct others sometimes. For their own well being.

Mr. Duchovny,
May I post a resonant "YES?" (add reverb too!)

I am embarrassed. I pose to you a question if you are still able;

"What makes you a Christian?" And see the answers you get.

There are many here that are set upon the idea that they have to live up to certain standards which are indeed found in the Bible. But living by them does not make one a Christian.

I will spare you the details, but it is very interesting how many that call themselves Christian miss the verifiable points.

I don't think I am embarrassed really, more perplexed.
There are all types of people from all different beliefs. It seems to me as if there are more antagonists than those who are honest and willing to discuss.
Then there are a the few that are here to have honest discussion.

By the way, I enjoy pondering your questions..... gives me a chance at self reflection

Other than some of the comments, It's ok, although I would like people to be more mature, There is a time to be funny or serious but they seem to not know when that time is, Or perhaps they do so they choose not to be. I just don't get it??? But very interesting question, I may add.

Yep.

I get embarrassed by self-professed atheists who behave badly and in doing so, bring atheism in to disrepute.

They really are an embarrassment to decent atheists.

I never get embarrassed by the bad behaviour of self-professed religious people, because I understand that they probably know no better and in their turn, only embarrass other decent religious people.

It seems that spirituality polarises twice.

Once in to two camps - one with a belief in some kind of divinity and the other with no belief in such things.

And then again in to the sensible and idiotic elements within each camp.

I realize that it can be fun to get goofy on here, and I try to have fun myself when I can tell that the question is put out there for that purpose. When someone is really being a jerk, I do cringe sometimes, but I'm not embarrassed, no.

At times I am embarrassed and ashamed by the rude, uncouth and ignorant actions of fellow members of my species on here. However, I feel sorry for them and the victims of their ignorance ... while at the same time I try to share my knowledge in a respectful way in the hopes of influencing them to do the same. At times I am embarrassed of my own actions on here, when I am sometimes provoked by others into responding in a rude or angry manner, and I have to remind myself to treat others as I wish to be treated, no matter how badly they treat me or others. Being embarrassed on behalf of others actions will solve nothing, but acting on that embarrassment and attempting to set a better example can have a positive affect on others. I try to do this as much as I can and I try to respond to others politely, and open-mindedly with respect for them and thier beliefs. I am still embarrassed by others who are not so courteous and accepting but I do not allow them to provoke me into acting like they do nd if they are truly out of line I simply report them and deny them the satisfaction of provoking me which is all they really want. I usually ignore those who are impossibly negative and degrading to others and instead focus on debating with open-minded, accepting people who truly want to learn from others and share thier knowledge. I know that every culture, group, etc has people that are ignorant and rude but I also know there are far more decent, polite and intelligent individuals out there and I try to focus on them..

No, but I do feel bad for the way some people act, pretending to be so open minded or Godly and then behaving exactly the opposite.

**********************

The open minded people who are open only to people who believe exactly the way they believe.

and

The Godly people who claim to have God's love for all, but we're all sinners going to hell and they have no problems calling non-believers names because of what they believe.

Both actions are oxymoron's of their beliefs, yet they feel because of their 'beliefs' they are justified. Yet they feel because they believe in a certain God they can behave as they choose and assume no repercussions.

I feel sorry for these people because they are walking around half blind to all the wonderful people out there, and they will never realize it.

Yeah sometimes.

Like when people say that dinosaurs have been spotted in the 1980's.

Do I really need to elaborate?

also, the pre-teens asking about sex and stuff like that weirds me out.
