Mountain Lions/Cougars eat the wild mustangs in the U.S. Also, I'm sure that some wolves who have been brave enough to range open land have taken down a horse or two. I know that Florida Panthers/cougars have been spotted migrating north in Florida, like the Gainsville area and horse owners have reported foals (baby horses) and mature horses being slaughtered and eaten by the predators.
