yes, because there are people in governmet. These people are in many aspects relgious. Then informally the two are related. The question for many countries is to make a balance in the relationship; so that all religions could be treated eqaully and fairly. Usually, rules of goverment are emanted from religion.

Thus, they are co-related; but the question is how much and in what way; or is the relationship balanced one?

Any law that becomes a contested " my will" or "my right to choose" is a mix of religious overtones where government is concerned.
The laws governing areas such as , abortion, assisted suicide, natural plants being used in native traditions, and teachings of science as a means of ridiculing religion on creation, all show a tendency to favor religious beliefs of the Catholic persuasion.

I don't believe that our country was completely founded by the seperation of church and state and it isn't in the bill of rights. It's come about by people who have lost sight of what this country was founded with. I think if we went back to religion and the original religion brought to this country and learned and implimented some of those values, this would be a better country. In a way if you think about it they are somewhat the same, they have a leader, they have a board that decides what's best for the church, and the require the money of it's members to survive.

the seperation of church and state presumes to avoid any direct involvement of one with the other , but it does not ackonwledge the fact that our laws are all based on judeo/ christian principles,so given that , there is no question that they are co-related.

No-the government is a form of social control that wants everyone to depend on them to be scared. If you're able to rely on faith instead of government, then their scare tactics won't work.
