I'm a student. And I've been giving sensual massages to support myself. I'm away from my home country, so it makes it really easy to get away from it.

But I know that it's wrong and I want to stop, because I don't feel good about myself, but I'm so used to the money, and going from making £40/hr to £9/hr is the most difficult thing in the world.

How can I keep myself on the right path after I've made the decision to stop?

It's well and good people saying that 'money doesn't buy happiness', but it sure does pay the rent!

Talk to a counselor at your school about job opportunities. And stick to your plan. Find a roommate to share expenses.

Ahhh, sensual massage. What a beautiful euphemism. Well, you've basically answered the big question about why women get involved in prostitution - because it pays better than working. Naturally I do not include women who are coerced and trafficked in that but for those, like you, who have a choice, that's the simple choice: "Can I get a job that will pay me £40 an hour? No I can't so it's Hello, big boy. Want a sensual massage?''
You have to choose. Do you want self-respect or do you want £40 an hour?

Try and take in a lodger to help pay the bills and that will help lift the financial burden. If you can find a cheaper place to live then go for it.
If you have more money left over at the end of each month then it won't seem so bad if you aren't earning a fortune an hour because you'll still be able to pay your rent and live comfortably. There are ways out of every situation, but the bit everyone fails to mention is that it usually takes sacrifices to get yourself out of financial ones. If you want out of this job badly enough, you'll be prepared to make a few sacrifices to get there but being able to say you feel better about yourself, will definately be the biggest reward. Good luck my lovely

Take a piece of paper and right down.
How would you feel when your mother cam to know about it?
Or how would you feel, and what would you do if you came to know that your son was doing something similar?

Look for some job which will keep you occupied.. and keep you away from distraction.
This is a situation similar to if you want to stop drinking or smoking.
I asure you... that now that you have realised its not the right thing... you ll stop it, and get over it...
Good Luck!!!

I think your brave to support yourself in that way, from my own experience I know how hard it is to be in living overseas without your family or friends and trying to survive on your own almost from scratch, paying rent and bills, and other expensives is really difficult without a decent wage. So good for you. Since you have a degree now it won't be hard for you get a good job that'll pay well. You just have to take it easy and reduce your spending and find cheaper place to live. Your life will be back to normal in no-time. Goodluck. x

You just have to do four times the hours, or less if you cut back spending. Maybe the university hands out hardship funds or you could get a student loan or career development loan. Perhaps you could move to a cheaper place?

Step by step. Anything worth doing is worth doing well. We all have stumbling blocks before us. It's how we approach our obstacles and overcome them. You may need spiritual guidance to help. Be happy with what you've got and trust God to supply the rest. I applaud you for your decision to stop. Good luck.

You have to make up your mind first. If you are absolutely sure that you won't go back to it, only then you should think about alternate employment plans. Be strong and stick by your decision. good luck girlie :)
