Everything you just mentioned pretty much sums up the status of Sony's big risktaker. Think about it: games in 1080p resolution are useless right now because no one can afford the technology. Game and movie data is more susceptible to damage because of the area the data is located on the disc. And borrowing the Wii's motion-sensor technology (after Nintendo had had it in development since the beginning of their new console design) is a cheap scam and a new low for Sony. I still have 11GB left on my 360's harddrive; why in the hell do you need 60GB of space? And for $200 more than the XBOX? They've cut their unit count by 75% and they delayed the launch in the UK. Sony is trying to do the impossible; I'll give them that...but they're gonna fail miserably.

I don't think it will fail. Once the PS3 gets on its feet and they work out all the bugs, it will be unstoppable. It is a cheap blue ray player. Has a built in hard drive. Free on-line gaming. It will also be reverse compatible with the PSX and PS2, that means there will be thousands of games to play from the start.

They've certainly got their work cut out for them. It remains to be seen how powerful Sony fanboyism is in terms of sales, but I think their sales are going to be lower than expected.
