Okay, this is what worked for Me.Go to Radio Shack, and get a 75 Ohm Cable Screw in Adaptor, less than $2, since Your TV probably has only a Cable Antenna Input, that will go out to a 300 Ohm Flatwire Adaptor. Okay, put 1 Wire onto 1 Lead of the Flatwire, and try Putting the Other Lead into the Round Center Ground Prong of the A/C Wall Electrical Outlet. Don't Put the Wire into either of the Two Slender Plug Ins, since that's where the Electricity comes from, mainly the Shortest of the Two, which is the "Hot" black Lead.. That will Damage the TV.Hopefully, by Plugging into the Ground Lead, You'll be using the Wiring in the Building as an Antenna. Then, on the Other Lead of the Flatwire, Hook up another Long Wire, and just move it around. this will be the Adjustment. If You have no Money to Spend at all [been there!] get a Paper Clip, Straighten it out, Insert it into the Antenna Input Center Hole, run a Wire from that, into the Ground Socket, and Loop another Wire around the Outside of the Antenna Input, where You would normally screw in the Cable. If You can, put some Tape on the Wire from the Paper Clip so you won't Short the Two Wires Together. Make sure it's a Fairly long Wire, about 5 ft., and put the First Foot of it under the TV so You won't pull it Off the Screw-In when You move it around to Adjust for a Signal. If You can't Afford the Wire for the Antenna, then find an Old Table Lamp,or Junked Appliance with a Power Cord, and Cut the Ends Off of it, and Split it into Two Wires for Your Homemade Antenna. An Easy way to Strip the Insulation Off the Ends of the Wires is to Heat Up the Insulation with a Lighter, then, while the Rubberized Plastic Covering is still Hot, Pull the Insulation Off with a Pair of Pliers. But, if You've got about $45 to Spend, then get an Amplified Indoor Antenna from Radio Shack. The Other Method is for Us "Poor Folks" ! Depending on Your Location, even that might not Work. Find out what the Return Policy is for the Purchase of an Amplified Antenna. Just Open the Package carefully so that You'll have an easier Time returning it if it doesn't Work.Flourescent Lighting causes a lot of Interference, so bear that in Mind. Hope this Helps !

If you would live here you could have ADSL TV coming through the phone line... (it's €29,90 a month, it includes for that price 15Mb internet, unlimited free phone to many countries including US and 91 free TV channels, I mean real TV, not internet TV). Unfortunately I guess that you don't have such service there...

But you can check, maybe your ISP might do that too...

have you ever tried unplugging it and leaving it unplugged for a lengthy time period? this would reset something interior. If this does no longer paintings you could desire a clean sensor for the on off button.
