I'm a student. And I've been giving sensual massages to support myself. I'm away from my home country, so it makes it really easy to get away with it.

But I know that it's wrong and I want to stop, because I don't feel good about myself, but I'm so used to the money, and going from making £40/hr to £9 is the most difficult thing in the world.

How can I keep myself on the right path after I've made the decision to stop?

It's not that I don't want to work a proper job, because I'm studying towards and IT degree, so I intend to have a proper career....
It's well and good people saying that 'money doesn't buy happiness', but it sure does pay the rent!

Set your mind on your goal and try to find a more "decent" (not meant to offend you) job that will make you feel better and whole again. I'm pretty sure there are other jobs out there where you can use up more of your talents and school abilities and in the long run, will make you feel more fulfilled and proud of yourself. Yes money indeed cannot buy happiness, but can also be earned in a lot more ways.

Okay. True, money pays the rent, but self-respect is far more valuable. Dignity is a precious thing, and if you can continue as you are and produly tell your granny what you've been up to, then it's obviously fine to you, and you maintain your self-respect. If not, you must act on it.

Like anything, a lack of respect for oneself can escalate, and if this earns you £40 an hour, you may one day be tempted by the next step which pays £60 an hour etc etc, and thus is the downward spiral.

I guess you have to put the money issue aside, hard as it may be when you have financial responsibilities. Attempt a different job, maybe sales with commission, or waitressing somewhere renowned for its generous tips (especially at Christmas), where money is good, although likely nothing compared to what you're used to.

Hun, I think the basic, naked truth is, Dignity and self-respect are going to cost you £31 an hour. You just ahve to decide whether it's worth it, and keep that decision in mind whatever you achieve now.

It's not always easy to put down in a piece of paper what you have to do in order to
raise your life and salary up again....! But there is an easy thing to do : relieving yourself
from all that anxiety, stemming from your way of living! Now, you must wright down in several pieces of paper your OVERTS and WITHHOLDS! An Overt=AN ACT of omission
or commission which does the least good for the least number of dynamics or the most
harm to the greatest number of dynamics(dynamics=us, family, friends, mankind, nature,
matter, spirits, infinity).Withhold=an unspoken, unannounced transgression against a moral code by which the person was bound. Now you've got to wright down any of them, stating what was it, when, how, the form, position, exact time, what did you do,
and its consequences, for both, Overts and Withholds, each at a time. By doing this, U
will reach a moment you'll start feeling very nicely, very calm. This is a good point to
stop. Take over later on, until you really feel there is nothing else to it.Doing this, your life will result brighter and your mind more clear!
Pls, keep me posted, if you like......!
Ciao......John-John.

You only need to look at the likes of Victoria Beckham to see that money doesn't buy happiness.
If you go to countries like Thailand and India, where the majority of people are quite poor, you'll notice that despite this they are all significantly happier than the average Londoner.
Experiences and relationships make you happy, not having expensive clothes and belongings, which might bring temporary pleasure but not lasting happiness. University was one of the happiest times of my life, and is a wonderful experience.
I think you should be happy that you are a student and make the best of your lucky situation. A lot of people cant afford to go to University at all.

It depends on how badly you want the cash. If you want the "GOOD STUFF" in life then you have to work harder for it. If you are happy with last years model car a 2 week holiday instead of a 4 week holiday etc etc. Then get a lower paid but less stressful job. At the end of the day the it is only you who can choose what you think is best

It seems to me that you know what you want already. You're in school and you're working but you don't like your job. A lot of people have that problem. It's not like you are a sidewalk pimp. Take care of YOUR business and support yourself as best you can until something better comes along. There are ALWAYS other options.

Support yourself to get the degree, then switch careers when the opportunity arises. You may have to work for free to gain work experience, so a fall-back income is no bad thing.

I wouldn't feel bad if I were you. If you have got what it takes to get you by for now then go for it. Stop when you want to, its not like you are addicted to it. The money should all pan out when you finish your degree. And what doesn't kill us makes us stronger!!!

Good luck xx
