to scare the bejeezus out of you when you open the door and it flies right at you. Nothing else has evolved that can fill this roll quite so perfectly as a daddy long legs

According to the guy on Chris Evans show last night, there is none. All they do is breed and try and stay alive for 3-5 short days then die.
Some small birds do eat them but if they didn't exist I'm sure those birds could find something else wwith a bit more meat on to enjoy.

The point? What is the point of a human? or a bird? Every living thing has a purpose, even if it seems not to be important. They control populations of other little bugs by eating them. They provide food for other creatures by being eaten. Just like us. We eat plants and animals and we get eaten by worms and beetles and plants. Seems kinda silly, huh?

i dont know, but they make a good bang when they fly into my bug zapper, smell a bit like burning hair after though.
