Simply right-click on the connection icon in the system tray and select 'repair'.

Win9x:

Start/Run: winipcfg / Choose adapter / release / renew

WinNT/2k/XP:

Start/Run: cmd
ipconfig /release * Not usually needed
ipconfig /renew

And i think only XP can do this:

Right click active connection in Network & click 'Repair' or right click active connection in System Tray^ 'Repair'

start>run. Type cmd. Hit enter. Then type into the dos box:

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

Close box. All done.
