Yes you can! lots of rumours around about this! If you choose to go ahead and colour your hair i would suggest foils as these dont touch the scalp so if you are concerned it is a good option. Also demi colours are good as they are gentler than permanent.

my doctor told me it isnt reccomended but it is ok to do the studdies are not deffinete. i have four children and i highlighted my hair during those pregnancies and nothing happened except for it didnt come out as planned because of the hormones in your body it may not take the dye or perm or whatever you might try to do. so that is one reason you should wait. it is harder to highlight your hair because it may not work or it may come out some totally wrong way. best luck to you

I had wondered the same thing so I asked my doctor. You are not supposed to dye it until the 3rd trimester, and even then only if you really can't live without it. But with your hormones, it probably won't take anyway. I waited until my 3rd trimester and then dyed my hair as I always have and it still looks the same as before I colored it! :( Sorry

Oh and if decide to try it have someone do it outside so you don't breath in the fumes.

My mum is a hairdresser and she said she does pregnant women's hair all the time, although I've heard not to do it in the first 12 weeks!!! But in saying that my mum was a full time hairdresser while pregnant with my brother and myself and she didn't have any problems and we turned out fine!!!!
Hope this helps!!!

Yes. It is a myth that it is harmful. I did it with my first two pregnancies and they both turned out fine. I'm pregnant again and have yet to color my hair but I plan on doing it soon. I'm 17 weeks.

Chemicals are not recommended while pregnant especially during the first trimester. If you will not come near the roots you might consider doing it during the last months of preganancy.

i would either read the printed materials or ask your hairdresser if the fumes might be harmul to your baby, considering you would be breathing in the fumes and they would inturn get into your system. i would be more concerned about the fumes than the actual chemicals because they are going on your hair, and not your skin that could be aborbed into you.

My doc told me no. he said don't do it unless its absolutely necessary (your hair looks so bad that you won't even come out of your house unless you color it) he said the chemicals and fumes could be harmful.

go for it... if you think that a chemical will harm your baby, just ask what is in it, my sister dyed her hair and i have a beautiful 1 year old nephew
