It's not a crossword - I'm trying to select a phone number and want to be able to spell a word so it will be easy for my kids to remember. Thanks.

Thallus - plant body w/o a true root, stem or leaf
Thanage - the land held by a thane
Thanker - one that thanks
Thatchy - resembling thatch

To catbird4: THANKER would be an easy word to remember (I'm sure your kids say 'thank you") and it makes for an easy number as well... 872-6537 :-)

To Cork: Thanks for the word, thalweg. Learned something new!

Here are 12 possibilities:

thacked, thairms, thalami, thalers, thallic, thallus, thanage, thanked, thanker, thatchy, thawers, thawing

Probably "THANKED" or perhaps "thanker" would work best for your puposes, unless something about your family situation suggests "thawing" (or you are all REALLY into plants and so choose "thallus" ? or you're into Anglo Saxon or Scottish history and choose to call your little estate a "thanage".)
