seems to me the dems have done most of the wars & drafting.Bush Jr hasn't enacted a draft yet & will not ever.at least he is trying & he is not having sex in the white house.please if you don't believe any of this,go back in your history books.i got my info from my dad who was there(born in the early 30s).sorry dems, your party has done more harm in the past 60 years.

wow! what a response.look i use to be a dem.i even vote for clintoon when he first ran for office.i didn't leave the democrat party, they left me.as far as bringing up old bones, hate to say it,it was the dems that started it first.now i'm not saying bush is the greatest,he has his faults just like every other pres before him,but it just seems to me that the dems have started more wars than reps.do you know more people have dies during the vietnam war than this war. i do agree that it is time for us to start pulling our tropps out,but not all at once. as the last guys posted said,a house divided will fall & thats whats happening right now in our goverment,we don't need to have terrorist come here to blow things up & kill more people,we are doing it to ourselves, look at whats happening on our news, kids killing kids, scandals from both sides,etc.. we as the people of this country need to wake up & pull together & tell these idiots that we elect to step up & do what they promise.

first i want to say excuse my spelling,i tried to go back & correct it,but yahoo won't let me.

your right clinton did some good things, like the welfare reform, but he also signed that nafta & most of our jobs went north or south of the border.plus you clinton lovers, you should thank the republicans for saving his butt from beign impeached, yes us republicans said it was a bad idea to impeach him.also as far as bush getting money approved for the war,ah,if i'm correct it takes 2/3s to pass that,so that means a lot of dems vote yes on it,the very ones who you voted in over & over again.
we all should be very thankful that we are as free as we are,in most countries, when you turn either 16 or 18 its mandatory to join a branch of the service,at least we can choose to join or not.

Bravo!! Some ppl believe govts (esp the US) are always out to make a buck. Maybe they are, but it is usually to our benefit and some times they make mistakes! They are ppl after all.

Some feel GWB is putting oil in his backyard! Ridiculous. Some believe that LBJ had JFK killed over money and power! Again, I'm not so sure. I know I don't KNOW the facts.

I've lived thru many of the things you list and I have to say I'm not ashamed of anything my govt has done and I am sorry for the way certain events unfolded. I also know the "rules of engagement" are not always clear at the outset and they change as we move deeper into them. I also have confidence knowing the ppl did the best they could under the circumstances.

It's said that a house divided will not stand. Overall I have to say Dems have hurt this country simply by trying to make us all get along while ignoring our differences. Republicans, right or wrong, have at least tried to let us stand.

Republicans are especially good at digging up old BONES:

Ronald Reagan took office in 1981, the federal budget grew from $678 billion to over $2 trillion.
Republicans had a majority in both houses of congress from 1995 to 2001. The federal budget grew from $1.5 trillion to $1.88 trillion.
Don't blame it all on Bill Clinton, as he had no power to approve any budget that was not first passed by congress. And they fought him tooth and nail, as with anything else.
The domestic welfare budget grew larger in the first two years under Dubya ($96 billion) than in the first six years under Bubba ($51 billion).
Now look at his spending in Iraq: 317 Billion

Way to go Republican party. And the BEST you can do is bring up Clinton's perverted ways? Try again.

By the way: The last Republican president to be credited with a decrease in the federal budget was Dwight Eisenhower in his first 2 years in office (Bush has had nearly 6 yrs.)

GO HILLARY!!!!!!!!
