Oedipus, without knowing, married a woman (Iocaste) who turned out to be his mother. Before that, also without knowing, he had killed his father. He was devastated, but he onlyh found out after he had had children (and sex) with her. So the Oedipus complex is the subconscious love of a son to his mother.

It is oedipus complex
The idea is based on the Greek myth of Oedipus, who unwittingly kills his father Laius and marries his mother Jocasta. The Oedipus conflict, or Oedipus complex is when a boy (usually at a young age, such as five) has a fixation on his mother. This is common for children, but a little wierd in older boys, and in teenagers it is just plain icky.

It's the Oedipus complex. Based on the Greek guy who killed his dad because he wanted to screw his mum.
Freud then decided that all boys want to screw their mums and that all boys are scared of their fathers. Boys believe that their fathers are going to castrate them. I think that Freud was a bit of a mixed-up chap who had a bit too much time on his hands. However, it does make interesting reading, if you're interested in psychology.

That would be the oedipus complex. If you are going to write about it you need to spell it correctly.
