Depends on memory, RAM and disk

Probably can't open more than 64, but I suppose 255 is doable.

There is a limit as to how many "handles" can be opened and 64 to 255 is usually the limit

The most I've ever been able to open on Win 98 is like 48 and that tends to crash my system.
