In Hindus, the father's religion/caste will be applicable to the children.

In Christianity, the children have to be baptised as Christians and this is the undertaking the Church takes while solemnising a marriage between a christian and other religionists. This is a must.

well these people have it right let the child decide where he or she is more comfortable at being and do not force it on the child. As long as God and faith have been put into the child's life it really does not matter in the end most relgions basically come down to love and faith and believing wich is most important.

i am a christian married to a jew ,i keep my faith,my daughter keeps the jewish faith and my son does not believe in any religion.which puts me in a bind, you should let the child decide when they are older enough to understand what religion is all about and both parents should explain each of their own ways of religion .from mikhal in israel.

Introduce them to both, allowing to participate in each ceremonial endeavor, and when they are older they can make their own choice. I was brought up and raised catholic, but my dad was protestant. I know nothing about our protestant faith, yet my late uncle on my dad's side was a better catholic even tho he was brought up in the other faith. I am now a non practicing catholic.
