Hi, try using www.freewebs.com - you can publish your small website through them. You could also trry www.angelfire.com, www.topcities.com, www.blueyonder.com - the list goes on. They all provide free web publishing. You will have to put up with some ad banners on your site - nothing you can do about this I'm afraid, they have to get their income from somewhere - unless you decide to upgrade and pay for the service.

Also, if you want a free domain name, try http://my.dot.tk.

Hope this is of assistance,

Nigel..

There a plenty of free web hosts out there - do a search and see what I mean. It would also be worth doing a search on web design tutorials - there is a lot of info that will help out there already if you just take the initiative and look.

If you want to make a database using Access, you should similarly search for tutorials.

Publishing a small website and publishing a database are two very different projects - it is unclear which you are trying to do.

You've asked a lot of questions - one at a time.

1) Yes there are free servers. http://www.netfirms.com/ is an example. THe trade off being that they will place an ad at the top of every one of your pages, which might make them look funny. Unlike most services though netfirms does allow some script executions.

2) To host your own site Powweb http://www.powweb.com/powweb/index.bml are about the cheapest at US$7.77 per month, the only catch being you have to pay a year in advance (US$93.25) From memory this includes a domain name.

3) If your pages are simple html they are compatible with any server. Most servers are Linux/Unix/Apache web servers but simple htm pages created in Front Page will definitely work. If you want to store your access database online, or use more advanced technologies such as ASP etc. then you need a windows server

4) If you want to upload directly from front page then you will need a server that suppors the front page server extensions. (You can save them and use another program such as WS FTP to upload them this is what I do)

5) I can't assist you with building web pages from access databases because I use MySQL and PHP - sorry

Hope this helps.

First off, pages made with FrontPage most likely won't run on an Apache web server. Most web servers in the internet run on Apache servers.
Your best bet, for scalability, is to create your database using MySQL (free).
Most free web hosting services will not allow database access, CGI scripts or any other services that could provide security holes. If you are looking for free hosting then you will have to stick to HTML and JavaScript.
