I would say you couldnt!!
Its not that hard to open a bank account, if you do that then you will be able to get a mobile with T Mobile (no matter what your credit) if you are prepared to give them £100 deposit. You get your deposit back after 3 months.

I don't know about online, but I do know that some phone companies will still give you a contract, but you'd need to put down some money. They call it a deposit, but it's more like a fail-safe. My friend had to pay $35 to verizon for hers, but it might be different depending on how your credit is.
What you can also do is have a friend put it in their name, and then later transfer it to your account/name. The guy from cingular actually suggested this when my friends went over to get a new phone, and even did it for them.
Other than that, i'd suggest getting something like a "go-phone" with cingular. They have plans available, but it's still pre-paid in a way.

You pay the deposit. Mobile phone bills are usually the last bill to get paid, and the cellular providers know that.
As to the person who got a friend to get the contract, that friend is crazy. I know somebody who was absolutely stuck with a $2500 cellular bill because they did that. Oops.

I am afraid it will be impossible without a bank account as they require you to pay by direct debit.
