my newborn daughter's head always falls to one side. if it is moved, it goes right back. if she is placed in any position, she will move to accomodate her head to that side. she seems to constantly be looking to her right, and now the back of her head appears to be getting flat. is her stiffened neck or tendencies to lean to one side a possible symptom of anything more serious than a flat head? and if her head is flat this young, would it return to normal as she grows?

My son did the same thing. When he was newborn till he was about 4 months. He always had to lay on the left side of his head.Causing his head to be flat.Since he's started rolling over and spending more time on his belly it has started to round out a lot better.I think she she will proablly be fine.Talk to the ped it will make you feel better.

My first suggestion is that you contact your pediatrician when every you have concerns about your child - especially a newborn. That being said, the baby probably was in that position during her time in Mommy. And with encouragement, should "unkink" over time. A baby's skull is very soft in the beginning and should sort itself out as the baby matures. But again - no advice on here can replace the importance of checking with your baby's doctor.

How old is she? It depends on a few factors...
It may be the way she was lying in utero, so she is more comfortable that way.
Her head should round out, as long as she is not left lying in the same position all the time.
I recomend carrying her in a fabric sling, that way her head is not lying against a hard surface, and is constantly changing position.
There are many other benefits to slings as well!

It sounds like torticollis. While your baby was in utero, she favored leaning her head to one side. Eventually (from lack of use) the muscles on the other side become weak, and her head sort of has to lean to one side. My younger son had this, and his pediatrician gave us some specific turning/leaning exercises to do with his neck. He wasn't happy about it, but we had to do them several times per day. I'm surprised your daughter's doctor hasn't noticed this yet. When you take her in for her next visit, ask the doctor about it. It's not a horrible thing to have, but she does need to start using her neck muscles on the other side of her neck so she can hold her head upright.

she is a newborn, and due to the fact that her neck is not strong enough o hold her head up yet, it goes to one side. as for the side...maybe she just prefers that side for comfort. the flat head thing is normal if she sleeps on her back. just give her a break from her back sometimes and place her on her tummy while she is awake and you are closely watching her. this may help. It may unflatten latter.

This must be a comedian tale the type you're saying which you have been impregnated, that is not clever to me. that does no longer even look criminal. and then on the beginning up you're saying you and your expensive husband, yet interior the 2nd paragraph you're saying your boyfriend and that the real dad isn't around. This must be a comedian tale. yet while that is not, i might purely use Hallejah (pronounced Ha-lay-juh) which would be a cuter rendition of the call you like. properly take care.
