I dont mean to dump people into one category. And I am not negative towards Israelis or any other nation. I just made 2 new friends from Israel who visited my city and we spent a lot of time together. Did day trips, went to my place, went to restaurants, etc. They appear like lovely people but are very restless and take a while to open up. Someone once said to me that israeli people are hard to make friends with but once they start considering u as their friend you have won a friend for a lifetime. Of course this doesnt apply to every single individual but I was just wondring what experiences others made.

For the main part I agree with blackman that they are just hard to make them friends. They just don't trust anyone that easily, and they take especial care if they know that you are from the middle east. I've had many jewish colleagues which i found very smart.

Met an israeli student in my college which I found her very skeptical all semester long, even though we had many good conversations, and another israeli at my work, she always tend to work and the least to open a chat with you.

Overall, They are mainly good friends if you were able to make them so, smart .. take business seriously, will NEVER cheat you, but will take them the longest to be able to trust you.

Where I work, I see some Israelis often. This is a traveling business. They are always in hurry, they review your information over and over again to make sure you are not cheating them or selling them anything they don't wanna. They are the most skeptical people I have ever seen. However, they are like every other people. I don't think many Israelis have a trust and confidence with someone else who's not Jew or from Israel. I could be wrong.

Recently I met 2 couples from Israel, and they were "friendly enough" when I first met them, but when I took a second and asked them how to say a couple of things in Hebrew, and asked them to show me what my name looks like in Hebrew, they became very friendly.

They are musicians and were in town to play at a music festival. Because I had taken a small interest in them as people, they invited me and my wife to attend the concert at no charge, and even offered to give us all-access passes to the event. I had to decline, only because of my work schedule confilcted with when and where (over 100 miles away) the festival was being held, but because they were willing to go out of their way for me, and I couldn't accept, I did go out of my way for them, and gave them a nice discount (10%) and a free tank of gas on their rental car. They appreciated it very much, and wrote a nice letter to the company's headquarters on my behalf.

Why are you trying to lump Israelis into one category? I don't know about Israeli's, but I have met quite a few dumb people.

We have met several people from Israel while traveling. They were extremely intelligent, had great jobs, were very family oriented and lots of fun to be around.
